Privacy Policy
ProofMate is designed to be a local-first, privacy-respecting iOS app. This page describes what the app does and does not do with your data.
What ProofMate stores
The app stores your receipts, invoices, warranty information, attached files (images, PDFs), notes and reminders locally on your iPhone, inside the app's sandbox. We do not operate a backend service that stores any of this content.
Account requirements
ProofMate does not require an account, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information to operate.
OCR and document parsing
When you scan or import a receipt, OCR (text recognition) runs on your device using Apple Vision. The extracted text is stored locally alongside the attachment. No image, PDF or extracted text is sent to ProofMate or any third party.
Notifications
ProofMate uses local notifications (scheduled by iOS, on your device) to remind you about warranty expiry and return deadlines. We do not operate a push-notification backend.
In-app purchases
Optional Pro upgrades are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles the payment, and ProofMate receives only the entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features. We do not see your card or billing details.
Diagnostics
If you have enabled Apple's optional "Share with App Developers" setting, anonymized crash reports may be made available to us through Apple. These contain no document content and no personally identifying receipt data.
Sharing and exports
If you choose to export an item, generate a Claim Pack PDF or share an attachment, the destination of those files is controlled by you (Files app, Mail, AirDrop, etc.). ProofMate does not transmit them on your behalf.
Children
ProofMate is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the version number above.
